The Bayeux Tapestry Experience

Monday 9^th to Friday 20^th November 2026

An immersive experience for KS2 & 3 pupils. Pupils will discover one of the key turning points in British History while developing their historical enquiry skills, including learning about Swindon’s important connection with the Tapestry. Explore a life-size replica of the Tapestry, take part in workshops, handle original Saxon artefacts, dress-up in replica battle costume, and try medieval weaving and embroidery. Find out about Anglo-Saxon life, the Norman invasion, how and why the Tapestry was made, its links with Swindon, and what makes it so significant as an historical source.

This unique experience is from Monday 9^th to Friday 20^th November 2026.
