Rooms and spaces
Our spaces range from large event halls and a large theatre-style room with its own break-out area, to smart GWR themed boardrooms – ideal for both occasional and regular meetings. We run day and evening events – from business breakfasts through to evening gala dinners, weddings, parties and concerts.

Perfect for a small drinks and canapés reception before connecting to one of STEAM’s many other impressive destinations.

Caerphilly Castle Hall
A spectacular setting for a formal evening dinner or drinks and canapés reception alongside the magnificent GWR express locomotive, Caerphilly Castle.

Station Platform
Our reconstructed 1930s GWR Station Platform is a wonderful location for an event outside Museum opening hours.

The Ticket Office is a cost effective solution for meetings, interviews and 1 to 1 coaching sessions.

Dean Boardroom
Have your meeting sat around a spacious, genuine, 100 year old GWR boardroom table. Complete with GWR chairs, this meeting room will seat up to 10 delegates and is a great choice for any business meeting.

Castle Boardroom
This traditional-style meeting room is located on the Museum’s first floor and combines GWR architecture with modern-day facilities.

Sir Daniel Gooch Theatre
Situated on the top floor of the museum the Sir Daniel Gooch Theatre seats up to 100 theatre-style

Hawksworth Hall
Hawksworth Hall combines character, elegance and great versatility. The hall is light and airy and can be dressed to deliver a simply stunning venue for your event.

The main and closest parking to STEAM is located at the Swindon Designer Outlet North and West car parks which are just 5 minutes walk from the museum.
Please note there is strictly NO FREE CAR PARKING FOR EVENTS.
