STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway is reopening

We are delighted to be welcoming visitors back from Thursday, 27 May!

To limit overall visitor numbers, we have introduced timed-tickets for museum admission. All visitors and Season Ticket holders need to book online in advance.

Find out more and book your tickets online today.

We cannot wait to see you again!

STEAM is open:

Monday to Saturday 10am – 5pm (last admission 4pm)

Sundays 11am – 4pm (last admission 3pm)

Please note that STEAM may be closed to the public on certain days to allow school groups to enjoy our displays.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Explore the rich history of the Great Western Railway and hear about the extraordinary things achieved by ordinary men and women during the Railway Revolution.

You'll meet life-like characters, including engineering genius, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. He created virtually every aspect of the GWR - from London Paddington to Bristol and beyond.

Housed in a beautifully restored railway building, you'll find us in the heart of the former Swindon Railway Works (right next to the Swindon Designer Outlet).
