Film and Comic Con

Stars of the big and small screen will descend on Swindon as a brand-new Film and Comic Con extravaganza comes to STEAM on 18th and 19th June 2022.

Run by Stars of Time, who organise the very successful annual Comic Con at the Tropicana in Weston-Super-Mare, the event will allow fans of Doctor Who, Blade Runner, James Bond and many more to meet and experience different aspects of their favourite universes.

The event will be taking place throughout STEAM and entry to our award-winning museum displays is also included.

Swindon’s Stars of Time Film & Comic Con is open 10am – 5pm, Saturday and Sunday.

Special Guests

There are some brilliant special guests lined up, including: 5^th Doctor Peter Davison and his companion Janet Fielding. Also scheduled are Madeline Smith (Miss Caruso, Live and Let Die), Valerie Leon (The Spy Who Loved Me and Never Say Never Again), and sculptor Brian Muir.

On the Saturday, Star Wars fans will have the chance to meet Paul Blake who played ‘Greedo’ and Tim Rose who portrayed the character ‘Admiral Ackbar’.

Movie Bike Collection

For the first time ever on public display at an event, a unique movie-inspired bike collection created by local model and prop-making company Podpad Studios Ltd will be on show in the ‘Movie Scene Zone’.

For an extra charge, fans of Blade Runner can sit in the ‘Spinner’ and experience a virtual flight through the future! Plus, you’ll be able to see lots of other eye-catching props and vehicles.

Virtual Reality

Gamers will be able to experience life through virtual reality with SAF-VR for free at the event. Those attending can fly through a city like Iron Man, battle zombies in an abandoned train station, or walk the famous plank!

Movie Auction and Collectables

Thousands of collectables will be on offer in the form of an auction, and many more will be on sale from the UK’s top traders. Stars of Time has partnered with Cineworld Swindon Shaw Ridge to offer visitors the chance to bid for exclusive cinema items. It’s the perfect time for fans to get their hands on replica props, clothing and original artwork, plus cinema posters and banners from the movies.

Cosplay Competitions

Pop-culture fans attending the Comic Con are invited to arrive dressed-up as their favourite TV, film or other fictional character and will be able to enter a free cosplay competition during the weekend.
