Park and Ride Service

A Park and Ride service will be running every Saturday and Sunday from 24th November until 30th December. The dedicated bus service is operated by Stagecoach West from the Wroughton P&R site ( Pipers Way, SN1 4RW) to the bus stop on Penzance Drive.

The direct service will run every 20 minutes from Wroughton Park & Ride, from 09:00 until 19:00. Returning services will depart the Designer Outlet every 20 minutes from 09:20 until 19:20. 
Bus travel is charged at just £2 for a return journey, per car. Parking is free.

Car Parking

The main and closest car parking for STEAM is located at the Swindon Designer Outlet North and West Car Parks which are just five minutes' walk from the Museum.
If you are using a Sat Nav, please enter 'Kemble Drive' for the North car park or 'Penzance Drive' for the West car park.
Please note the bus lane next to the West car park should NOT be used. Cameras are in use and fines will be issued by Swindon Borough Council.

FREE Parking with Standard Admission 

You can get FREE PARKING with STEAM standard admission.
You need to get a ticket from the Swindon Designer Outlet North or West Car Park and you can then later exchange it at the Designer Outlet Information Desk for a free parking pass after visiting STEAM. You will need to show your valid STEAM ticket for that day.

Special Event Weekend Parking 

Please note, there is strictly NO FREE CAR PARKING FOR SPECIAL EVENTS, e.g. The Swindon Railway Festival, Great Western Brick Show and Christmas at STEAM.
Please also be aware, road traffic around Kemble Drive and the Swindon Designer Outlet car parks can get very busy for the Great Western Brick Show and Christmas at STEAM events.
Alternative car parks are at nearby Bristol Street* (SN1 5EQ) and the Brunel North (SN1 5AH) and West (SN1 5AN) multi-storey car parks in the town centre. These are approximately 10-20 minutes' walk from the Museum. For more travel advice, please click here: How to Find Us.
*From Bristol Street car park, turn left and keep going until you come to a pedestrian sign directing you through the GWR tunnel and connects you to the Churchward site. Your route will pass English Heritage and Thomas Homes apartments, soon leading to STEAM Museum.

Car Parking for Disabled Visitors

There is FREE car parking available at the front of the Museum for STEAM visitors who display a valid Blue Badge. Please note, STEAM cannot accept liability for vehicles parked in front of the Museum.

Coach Parking

There are six dedicated coach parking bays available at no cost for pre-booked groups.
