Making a Complaint about Childcare

In most cases parents are happy with the childcare they use. However, if parents are not satisfied they are entitled to make a complaint. All registered childcare providers must have a published complaints procedure.

In most cases following this procedure will enable parents to resolve the issue. However, if a parent wishes to take the complaint further

If the complaint is about the quality of the childcare parents need to make a complaint to Ofsted. www.ofsted.gov.uk.

Ofsted cannot investigate financial disputes between parents and childcare providers. If a parent needs additional advice or support during this process they can:

If the complaint is about the lack of availability of suitable childcare, parents can make a complaint to Swindon Sure Start Partnership using Swindon Borough Council’s Complaints Procedure
