In April 2008, Swindon Borough Council and the Swindon Strategic Economic Partnership held a conference for local companies which might employ migrant workers.
A range of top-level regional speakers gave presentations on topics including new Government rules on immigration, the sources of advice available and the importance of helping migrant workers to remain safe and well in their new jobs. Adam Silarski from the Polich Community also gave delegates a poignant insight into how one recent migrant worker had found his life in Swindon.
