Route 16+

We (YourFilm) were commission by the 16+ team to create a short documentary on some of the young people who have gone though their care service - the film was also used as a beacon to announce the new name of to the care service.

BBC Blast- Teenage Rampage – September 2009

Four of us took part in this year's Teenage Rampage. We filmed one of the regional heats held in Swindon at the Furnace, and then went on to Film the Finals held at the newly re-opened Colston Hall in Bristol.

Josh Eley said, “I loved to be part of the team that went to the Colston Hall, I was able to learn valuable skills from the BBC production team that were on hand to help.”

Rite Of Passage - March 2009

In March we were invited to the First Light film awards where we were nominated for Best Thriller category, which then went on to win! It was a great day for all. We were presented with the award from Jason Isaacs and Sienna Miller, and were able to meet Danni Boyle. We were then whisked off to a prestigious apartment bar for drinks and nibbles and the chance to meet some of the stars!

Rite of Passage was even judged by Daniel Craig!!

"Well done for this, so well put together. Very simple story told really well. Lighting, costumes, acting I cannot fault. Good luck to all those involved. I'm going to give this 1st place because the story telling was so strong." – Daniel Craig.

Crowdys Hill School - Spring 2009

After making Rite of Passage we gained another First Light Movies award to make a documentary with a class of autistic children based at Crowdys Hill School Swindon. We attended sessions with the young people to find out more about them and to teach them skills in film.

Virtually Reel - 2008

Throughout out 2008, YourFilm worked with four other groups of young people in Swindon to create four individual pieces of art, we held a big screening of all the projects in March – it was called Media Mash-up and we invited young people from all over the region! All of the films and information about the project can be found our website which was designed especially for the event!
