Swindon Night Life

Night Life in SwindonWhen it comes to nightlife, there’s no shortage of places to go in Swindon. Choose between fabulous restaurants, a great range of bars and some of the best nightclubs in the south-west.

Fast Food to Fine Food

Fine food, cool minimalism, café bars, or a little bit of the country of your choice. The Regent Circus area of the town centre has some award-winning Indian restaurants, whilst Old Town offers a great choice of Mexican, Italian, and Chinese eateries.

On the outskirts of town there are some great eating places that offer a wide choice of inspiring British dishes including the Pear Tree at Purton, the Three Crowns at Brinkworth, and the Hare and Hounds at Lambourn.

Partying People

Whether your choice is the 'bottom' or the 'top' of town, you will be guaranteed a great night out. The downtown area is full of pubs and bars and has received rave reviews from those who should know. The area is bursting with great places that include the retro Lava Lounge, the very hip Edwards, O’Neil’s, ever popular Yates Wine Bar, Broadwalk, or Bar Cuba.

If you choose the 'top of town' (Old Town), the choice is just as good. Bursting with even more people, and a great atmosphere, a fantastic night out can be assured. Longs Bars always attracts the best underground DJs and Mackenzies and Fusion are some of the best hotspots that you will find in the town.

Clubbing

Our reputation as a nightlife hotspot continues to grow, and here’s why: The Brunel Rooms hosts DJs that include Judge Jools, Tall Paul, Paul Oakenfold, Danny Rampling, Lisa Lashes, and many more. The Brunel Rooms is one of the most renowned clubs in the south-west and is a definite must for the serious clubber.

Soda is very different from anything else you will find in Swindon and is great for soul, funk house, R&B, and urban grooves, and attracts the likes of Tim Westwood. (Soda is for over 25’s only.)

Po Na Na offers a great choice of music and is great for chilling. Destiny & Desire is great for cheesy numbers. Eros (outside of the town centre) offers a great selection of mainstream music. Mission is one of the most popular clubs in the town offering a selection of house, garage and mainstream tunes. And all fans of Indie music should visit The Furnace.

It would be difficult to list every club, bar and restaurant in Swindon so if you would like to find out more please telephone the Tourist Information Centre on 01793 530328 or 01793 466454 or by e-mail them at infocentre@swindon.gov.uk.
