Christmas at STEAM
Saturday 3 and 4 December, 10.00am–5.00pm
This quality Christmas fair is sure to bring festive cheer to visitors of all ages with its sumptuous stalls selling luxury gifts and seasonal fayre. There's also live festive music throughout the Museum, a magical Santa's Grotto, a Christmas cafe and of course the famous steam locomotives and award-winning displays at STEAM. Special admission prices: £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for children and concessions. Under 3s and STEAM season ticket holders go free. Please note there is a charge of £4.00 for entry to Santa's Grotto. Sorry, no Swindoncard discounts and no free parking available at this event. Christmas Smiley Cats Kidz Club
Wednesday 21 December and Thursday 22 December
Kids will love to join the fun at Smiley Cats this Christmas Holiday! They'll be busy creating masks and other fun items with the theme of 'Happy Feet'! These structured sessions are for children aged 5-11 years and give parents the chance to be freed up for the morning (drop off at 9.30am and collect by 1.00pm). All craft materials, healthy mid-morning snacks and a supervised tour of the Museum are included in the price of £12.00 per session, or £9.50 with a SwindonCard. All Smiley Cats staff are CRB checked and NVQ qualified. Bookings in advance and enquiries to Smiley Cats please. Meet the Railway Workers
Saturday 3 December and Saturday 17 December, 10.00am-4.00pm
Take a step into the fascinating world of the engine drivers, firemen and railway workers who worked on the locomotives and in Swindon Works. This is a great fun day out for all the family and children will love to 'have a go' at the controls as they meet real engine drivers and former GWR workers, who will show them how the locos worked. There is so much to see, learn and do for all ages, including changing the signals in an authentic Signal Box and taking a ride on the train simulator. Young children will love the children's play areas with play tables and interactive wooden toys. Normal admission applies.
Admission: adults £6.40; children 5-16 and concessions £4.25; family tickets £17.00 (two adults and two children) and £20.20 (two adults and three children).
