How to Get Involved

We want to involve as many children, young people and the local community as possible in deciding what we provide under the Playbuilder project. We are currently undertaking a two-stage consultation process.

Public Consultation/General Process

The general consultation is looking at the wider context of play and asking the community what they would like to see provided within Playbuilder sites.

Up until March 2010 we are engaging with a wide range of individuals, groups and organisations to determine what children and young people like to play on.

Information provided as part of this consultation will be used to produce a general design brief that will be used by Swindon Borough Council and its suppliers and contractors to deliver Playbuilder sites on the ground.

Local Consultation

We recognise that each Playbuilder site will have its own unique requirements and local considerations. Therefore, in addition to the general design brief, we will also be undertaking public consultation at a more local level to find out what the local community want to see provided under Playbuilder.

This local consultation will be happening at sites throughout the next year or so.

As of 10 June, we had visited 25 schools and held 20 community consultation events, which has proved very successful.
