Arts Award Welcome

Arts Award welcome logoWe're delighted to announce that Swindon Art Centre's application to become Arts Award Welcome has been successful.

What is the Arts Award?

Aged 11-25? Want to explore your creativity... and get a nationally recognised qualification? Whatever art form you’re interested in, whatever your ability, Arts Award fits you. You can be the creator or performer of your own work, or develop your skills in essential roles like marketing or stage management.

Flexible, valuable, and awarded at Bronze, Silver or Gold levels. You’ll end up with a portfolio that shows off your creativity and gives you a recognised national qualification to put on your CV.

You’ll need to:

  • Set yourself an arts challenge
  • Go to live arts events
  • Research arts careers and see how people get started
  • Share your arts skills with others
  • Organise your own projects
  • Put together a portfolio in your own choice of format

To find out more about the Arts Awards and find out Arts Awards Centres near you please visit the website www.artsaward.org.uk

The Arts Award is managed by Trinity Guildhall and Arts Council England.

How can the Arts Centre help you with your Arts Award?

Attend and Review live arts events

Young people under 25 can claim FREE tickets as part of the Arts Council’s ‘Night Less Ordinary’ scheme to see a range of high quality shows at the Arts Centre including theatre, music and comedy. See our brochure for the new season.

As well as free theatre tickets, you'll have the opportunity to interview a professional performer, review your favourite shows and have your review featured on our website.

This is subject to availability so please check out our brochure and let us know which shows you would like to review in advance, so we can arrange this for you with the visiting company.

Learning about Career Pathways in the Arts

You can find out more about how a professional arts venue works by volunteering at the Arts Centre. Gain experience in areas such as technical, front of house and marketing.
