Group Visits

Welcome to Group Visits at STEAM

At STEAM we pride ourselves in our award-winning customer service and our friendly team are here to welcome your group and ensure your visit is a success.

Our flexible approach allows you to choose from a standard group visit package (please see below) or we can tailor your package to suit the specific needs of your group.
Please note that all group bookings need to be made at least two weeks in advance.
We offer introductory talks (bookable in advance and for an extra fee) that will help set the scene for your visitors and give them some wonderful insights into the GWR and its fascinating history.
With our own in-house catering and our Platform One Café, there are plenty of options to include booked refreshments - from cream teas to three course gala dinners. Or you can simply choose to drop into the Café at your convenience (subject to space availability).
We share Swindon's historic Churchward site with the acclaimed McArthurGlen Designer Outlet which is only two minutes' walk from the Museum and some groups love to combine this opportunity with a visit to STEAM!
To get the most from your STEAM Group Visit, we recommend you allow between two and three hours.
We look forward to welcoming you soon and hope you'll find all the information you need within these pages.
If you do have a group visit query, please email our
Groups Co-ordinator with the subject 'Groups enquiry'
We also welcome school visits - please see our Learning section.
